The McDonald’s golden arches are the most recognized symbol in the world, and the restaurant serves food to people in 119 countries. The company and the brand is about as American as it gets. McDonald’s is also the latest company to outsource white-collar professional jobs to foreign H-1B workers.
McDonald’s just outsourced 70 Ohio white-collar accounting jobs to lower wage foreign graduates. A spokeswoman for McDonald’s explained the outsourcing as an effort to cut costs. “To deliver $500 million in savings, the vast majority by the end of 2017, we are restructuring many aspects of our business, including an accounting function,” said spokeswoman Terri Hickey.
While American citizens can’t find jobs in this country, Donald Trump has vowed to reform the H-1B and immigration programs while liberal politicians such as Hillary Clinton are advocating for the expansion of foreign hiring.
Foreign white-collar temporary workers in American now exceed over 800,000, including approximately 650,000 H-1B workers who are here on multi-year visas.
According to Breitbart, “American universities have hired H-1Bs for 100,000 prestigious jobs, including professors, lecturers, doctors, therapists, scientists and researchers. Engineering giant Caterpillar continues to hire H-1B workers in Illinois as it fires hundreds of American engineers and other white-collar workers, DeLoitte and other U.S. accounting firms have asked for more than 20,000 H-1B visas to replace American business-school graduates.”
American’s are on the losing end of corporations trying to maximize profit, and federal rules are to blame for this happening. Federal rules allow for H-1Bs to be paid much less than the Americans they replace.
Several states are also allowing illegals to work in licensed professional jobs, including as teachers, lawyers and doctors.
Each year the federal government invites into America roughly 800,000 guest-workers, one million legal immigrants, and a few hundred thousand illegal immigrants. Each year 4 million young Americans who annually enter the workforce. This equated to roughly two new foreign workers for every four Americans who enter the workforce each year.
If you’re wondering why it’s hard to find a good paying job in America these days, this can be partly to blame.
