Radio host and ‘Fox News’ contributor, Laura Ingraham is said to be looking toward a senate run in Virginia, where she would challenge former Democratic vice-presidential nominee and Hillary Clinton running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine.
According to sources close to Ingraham, several party insiders have asked her to run and she is currently considering it.
While running for senate would be an uphill battle, Ingraham has many influential backers that could help her immensely in her campaign, reports the Washington Examiner.
Competition in the race would be stiff, as Republican representatives Barbara Comstock and Dave Brat are also considering a senate run. There are also reports that former Republican presidential candidate, Carly Fiorina is considering a run in Virginia.
In preparation for a potential bid, Ingraham’s business partner, Peter Anthony, has begun buying website domains for Ingraham to use in the event she decides to move forward.
The domains in consideration, thus far, include ingrahamsenate.net, ingrahamsenate.com, ingrahamforvirginia.com, and ingraham2018.com.
Ingraham hasn’t commented on a run.
