Megyn Kelly will be waking up a national audience beginning 9 a.m. Sept. 25, which is the day her NBC morning show is scheduled to debut, according to a network spokeswoman on Tuesday.
Taped in front of a live studio audience, the new show will be in addition to her Sunday night news magazine, which made headlines (and not the good kind) after her less-than-stellar interviews with Russian President Vladimir Putin and controversial radio host Alex Jones, but her ratings have yet to even come close to those of CBS’ “60 Minutes.”
Kelly first appeared in the Sunday evening slot on the network after being lured away from Fox News earlier this year with a lucrative contract offer.
The show will be part of the “Today” show lineup, according to a report in Politico.
It’s rumored that Kelly could take on a more high-profile role on Today in the future, despite the fact that viewers don’t seem to like her.
Kelly has said that her morning show will “merge a little Charlie Rose, a little Oprah, and a little me all together.”
