The smallest details are getting the most attention from social media and “resistance” fighters who have nothing good to say about the Trump administration’s wildly successful Middle Eastern tour.
After deplaning in Tel Aviv, the President and the First Lady were seen walking alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara. However, as the couple strutted down the red carpet, Trump reached over to grab his wife’s hand. She appeared to then bat her husband’s hand away, sparking a maelstrom of speculation about the couple’s marriage from all of their most vocal critics.
“Perhaps Air Force One encountered some turbulence that shook Melania Trump to her core. Or maybe she noticed a large fly on President Donald Trump’s hand after deplaning at an Israeli airport,” surmised an article in Newsweek that went on to say that the first lady’s apparent rejection could well be the biggest story to come out of the Trump’s trip to Israel.
Twitter went wild with speculation over what was most likely Melania’s way of stopping her husband from making a social gaffe in a country where men and women do not hold hands or kiss in public. Melania knew that, and her husband needed a gentle reminder.
YOU GUYS. LOOK AT MELANIA'S HAND. I don't know whether to laugh or cry pic.twitter.com/Fu18PUyHrb

Finally Trump looked behind him to see where Melania was & she pushed his hand away. They are not in any real sense a married couple. https://t.co/rCFAZ2eL7R

The media is posting stories about the “hand-holding” scandal all over the internet.
“The president then proceeds to adjust his suit jacket and caress his tie—a move typically employed by anyone whose hand-holding attempt receives public rejection. Videos of the encounter, first streamed internationally and across major news outlets, soon found their way to social media platforms like Twitter, where users were reveling in the awkwardness of it all,” wrote Newsweek.
“Looks like Melania doesn’t want to even hold hands with Donald Trump,” one user wrote. “Not a good sign from the wife.”
The Trumps were greeted by Israeli President Reuven Pivlin and his wife, Nechama Rivlin.
Newsweek then seized upon a new hand-holding scandal, stating, “Upon seeing her counterpart, Melania Trump grabbed the first lady’s hand and proceeded to hold it throughout their widely publicized meeting.”
