Mexican comedian George Lopez booed off stage for making anti-Trump jokes (video)

Mexican comedian George Lopez tried using his anti-Trump jokes to get chuckles from a crowd in Denver but was booed off stage instead. See video below.

According to multiple reports, Lopez was scheduled to the evening emcee at a charity event for juvenile diabetes last week, but he didn’t stick around after the crowd asked him to stop the bashing of the president.

A man who was at the event, posted to Youtube his cellphone video that highlights the tale end of the uncomfortable moment when Lopez leaves.

Corey Fenton’s video shows Lopez growing upset and lashing out at the crowd. T he following comment was written by Fenton underneath his video:

“Carousel Ball 2017 Denver. George Lopez emcee. Came out, made Trump jokes about Mexican and border wall. Not well received at a charity event for juvenile diabetes, even in Denver. He’s asked nicely to stop by a man in front row who just donated $250k, George doesn’t, continues. Gets booed. Video picks up here. He starts to apologize awkwardly, then blames white privilege. He then forgets what he’s doing, says he doubts Lenny Kravitz (the entertainment) will come out after the way we treated him, awkward silence. George leaves stage, never to return. Is replaced as emcee by a Denver newscaster. Incredibly weird. Lenny killed it tho!!”

The $250k donor who asked Lopez to call it quits was allegedly Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei.

Tables at the event were sold at $5,000 to $100,000 to benefit the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes.

We’re told that Lopez responded to Maffei, “Thank you for changing my opinion on old white men, but it doesn’t change the way I feel about orange men.”

Trying to recover and sensing the audience turn, Lopez said, “Listen, it’s about the kids . . . I apologize for bringing politics to an event. This is America — it still is. So I apologize to your white privilege.”

Lopez also told a joke about Trump’s proposed border wall with Mexico, saying, “I guess you can get some Mexicans to do it cheaper and they wouldn’t crush the tunnels underneath.”

When the audience did not respond well, he quipped, “Are you El Chapo people?” in reference to the drug kingpin who has used tunnels to evade authorities.

Lopez then announced a video segment — but he did not return to the stage, and a local newscaster took over the hosting duties.  Lopez’s rep tried selling the idea that the comedian was supposed to be on for just 4-minutes, but the event literature has him listed as the emcee for the evening.

Lenny Kravitz performed at the gala, which reportedly raised $1.65 million.
