Michael Moore: ‘Taking down Trump with new Broadway show’

“I think people will find themselves laughing one minute and wanting to go look for some pitchforks and torches the next,” Michael Moore, 62, said on Monday about his new one-man show on Broadway, the latest of his efforts to “take down Trump.”

Titled “The Terms of My Surrender,” the show is set to run “eight times a week, for 12 weeks,” said Moore, explaining, “It’s a humorous play about a country that’s just elected a madman — I mean, there’s really no other way to put it.”

Moore further noted that his play, which is based on current news reports, is meant to “unravel an unhinged man,” adding, “I think that discombobulation might be our most effective path to undoing his presidency.”

Prior to this, the filmmaker has tried to “unhinge” the president by encouraging others to take anarchist actions, such as disrupting the inauguration; demanding that Democrats “declare a national emergency” regarding the Russian meddling investigation; and launching a website intended to take Trump out of office.

He calls his latest effort “a piece of entertainment for people who like to think.”
