Michelle Obama slams Trump

Apparently forgetting that her school lunch program was an abject failure; resulting in wasted food and hungry school children, former first lady Michelle Obama expressed outrage during a health conference on Friday at President Trump’s decision to delay federal requirements in her “Let’s Move” program, which was aimed at fighting childhood obesity.

“You have to stop and think, ‘Why don’t you want our kids to have good food at school? What is wrong with you?’ And why is that a partisan issue?” Obama questioned, adding, “Moms, think about this: I don’t care what state you live in, take me out of the equation ― like me, don’t like me ― but think about why someone is OK with your kids eating crap.”

The Trump administration announced earlier this month that they will delay a mandate which would reduce the amount of sodium in school lunches. And Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said he plans to keep issuing waivers that required more whole grains be served at schools.

Pointing out that millions of American children eat federally subsidized meals at school, Obama suggested that people “look at motives” behind these actions. She said, “Because here’s the secret: If somebody is doing that, they don’t care about your kid and we need to demand everyone to care deeply about our kids.”
