Clearly thrilled after a Senate measure to repeal Obamacare was upended by three Republican ‘no’ votes, “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski declared that this is “Failure Friday” for President Donald J. Trump, saying, “If you want to know what failure looks like, just take a look at the last 36 hours of the Trump presidency.”
Brzezinski said the GOP “faces a reckoning with an embarrassing failure in Congress and a failing presidency,” adding, “President Trump tried to lay blame for the healthcare failure at the feet of three Republicans and the Democrats, but, in the end, he wasn’t able to keep his Party unified and failed to deliver on a key campaign promise for his base.”
She further stated, “The president has failed in his attempts to bully the attorney general into resigning — Jeff Sessions vowing to stay on as long as Trump sees that as appropriate. The president did succeed, in unifying practically all of Washington against [the] treatment of the attorney general.”
Senators John McCain (R-Ariz.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Susan Collins (Maine) were the three lawmakers who cast the deciding no votes and dashed the GOP’s promise to repeal Obamacare early Friday morning, … at least for the foreseeable future.
Another “failure” Brzezinski crowed about was President Trump’s inability “to change the conversation” regarding his tweets banning transgender individuals from serving in the military, since the Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman said that the Pentagon will not make any changes to its transgender policy until Trump clarifies what he meant.
Brzezinski further pointed out: “And the president even managed to fail with his address to the Boy Scouts of America. The head of the group is now apologizing to its members for the president’s rhetoric. These are our lead stories this morning despite the fact that Trump’s communications director went on a profanity-laced tirade against members of the White House senior staff.”
In an interview published Thursday, White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci commented on White House leaks, and attacked Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, calling him “a f—ing paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac.”
“A lot of failures on this Failure Friday,” Brzezinski repeated.
