Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee said via Twitter on Thursday that if President Trump wants to defeat North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, he should send Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) to negotiate with him.

“@POTUS has dispatched Maxine Waters to NOKO [North Korea] to talk to Lil Kim. After 1/2 hour with her he will drink whatever he gave to his 1/2 brother,” Huckabee tweeted.

He was ostensibly referring to an incident in which Kim Jong Un’s half-brother Kim Jong Nam was poisoned. South Korea’s spy agency believes the dictator to be behind the death.

Huckabee’s comments come as tensions escalate between the United States and North Korea after President Trump tweeted “fire and fury” in response to the rogue state’s successful miniaturization of a nuclear warhead. As strengthening sanctions appear to be failing to get the country to fall in line, onlookers grow desperate for a solution.

Following the president’s comments, North Korea threatened to send four missiles at the US territory of Guam.

“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen. [Kim Jong Un] has been very threatening, beyond a normal state, and as I said they will be met with fire, fury and frankly power, the likes of which this world has never seen before. Thank you,” the president’s tweet read.

Maxine Waters has been a thorn in Republicans’ sides for a while and the butt of many jokes. She has made a living bashing Trump on liberal media news outlets since his election. During an interview Monday morning on “The Breakfast Club” radio show, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) was asked about the possibility of an all-black political party, and she wouldn’t rule it out, but listed several steps black people need to take before they can pull it off.

Alan Dershowitz, a well-known lawyer and Professor at Harvard Law School, responded to Waters’ recent accusations that he was racist over remarks regarding the Russia probe and the recent announcement of a grand jury.

“Being black doesn’t give you a license to call people racist any more than being Jewish gives you a license to call people anti-Semitic,” Dershowitz told Abby Huntsman on “Fox and Friends Weekend.” “She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. First of all, I wasn’t talking about the grand jury. I was talking about the petty jury. Grand jury doesn’t matter. A grand jury will indict a ham sandwich if the prosecutor wants it to.”

Dershowitz accused Waters of using the charged term too easily.

“If I had said that race didn’t matter, she’d have called me a racist,” Dershowitz continued. “She throws around the term so loosely and so inappropriately, and it weakens her credibility just by calling everybody a racist by calling me a racist, when she calls real racists racists, nobody is going to believe her.”
