Miley Cyrus claimed on Instagram Saturday that she was proud of her brother, Braison Cyrus, after he appeared on an Italian runway wearing Dolce & Gabbana for the designers’ show on Saturday. But then she threw shade on Stefano Gabbana for his outspoken conservative political opinions; apparently ruining her brother’s chances of ever doing runway work for D&G again.
“Congrats @braisonccyrus on walking in your 1st runway show….” wrote Cyrus, going on to state that her brother is actually a very talented musician who never aspired to become a runway model.
And then she wrote this: “PS D&G, I STRONGLY disagree with your politics…. but I do support your company’s effort to celebrate young artists & give them the platform to shine their light for all to see!”
Gabbana was not impressed.
“Ignorant!!!” he replied, adding, “For your stupid comment never more work with him.”
Gabbana then wrote in a separate post, “We are Italian and we don’t care about politics and mostly neither about the American one! We make dresses and if you think about doing politics with a post it’s simply ignorant. We don’t need your posts or comments so next time please ignore us!!”
Congrats @braisonccyrus on walking in your 1st runway show…. It’s never been my little brothers dream to be a model as HE is one of the most talented musicians my ears have ever been given the gift of hearing…. BUT it is a Cyrus family trait to try everything once (within reason HA) and to embrace opportunities that encourage you to step out of your comfort zone! We believe in trying something new everyday! I love you Prince Suga Bear and seriously congratulations on your experience! I am so proud of you always…. From Nashville to Italy! 👑❤️👑❤️👑❤️ PS D&G, I STRONGLY disagree with your politics…. but I do support your company’s effort to celebrate young artists & give them the platform to shine their light for all to see!
Dolce and Gabbana drew condemnation from liberals on social media earlier this year when they decided to dress First Lady Melania Trump for her official White House portrait in 2017, after a slew of American designers chose to distance themselves from the First Lady.
Their belief in traditional family values has also caused leftists to boycott their company and sparked hatred from gay parent Elton John, who used in-vitro fertilization in order to father children with his male partner.
The only family is the traditional one,” co-designers Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce, told an Italian Magazine. The two men were in a relationship for 23 years before they split in 2005.
“You are born to a mother and a father – or at least that’s how it should be,” said Dolce, noting that IVF is an unnatural way to have children. Elton John then boycotted their brand and urged others to do the same, to which the designers hilariously replied, creating an expensive t-shirt emblazoned with the message, “#BOYCOTT Dolce & Gabbana”.
