Judges for the 2018 Miss America contest on Sunday night in Atlantic City made certain no one won who supported President Trump, as they asked a wide array of political questions during the contest.

Candidates were asked multiple questions about President Trump, including whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, whether Trump was wrong to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord, and if he responded appropriately to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Many Twitter users have observed that the response Miss Missouri, Jennifer Davis, gave on whether Trump colluded with Russia actually cost her the contest, as she was the first runner up in the competition.

Davis was asked to be the “jury” on whether Trump colluded with the Russian government to win the 2016 election against Hillary Clinton by giving an “innocent or guilty” verdict.

“Right now, I’d have to say innocent because not enough information has been revealed,” Davis said, adding, “We should investigate it to its fullest extent.”

Miss New Jersey, Kaitlyn Schoeffell, was quizzed on whether Confederate statues should be removed from public display, and responded that she felt they should be taken to museums.

The eventual winner of the contest was Miss North Dakota, Cara Mund, who slammed Trump on climate change.

“I do believe it’s a bad decision,’ she said. “Once we reject that, we take ourselves out of the negotiation table and that’s something that we really need to keep in mind.”

“There is evidence that climate change is existing. So, whether you believe it or not, we need to be at that table, and I think it’s just a bad decision on behalf of the United States,” she added.

Mund had stated in an earlier interview that her goal is to become the first woman governor of North Dakota.

“It’s important to have a woman’s perspective,” she said. “In health care and on reproductive rights, it’s predominantly men making those decisions.”
