Today is September 16 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch. Below are my opinions on the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room, in my opinion. 1-Hurricane Sally makes landfall in Alabama as Category 2 storm, ‘life-threatening’ flooding expected
Hurricane Sally roared ashore the northern Gulf Coast early Wednesday morning, making landfall as the storm threatens to bring devastating flooding to the region.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) says Hurricane Sally made landfall at 4:45 a.m. CDT near Gulf Shores, Alabama as a Category 2 storm with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph. The hurricane has left thousands without power near coastal areas of Alabama and the Florida Panhandle region.

“Catastrophic and life-threatening flooding likely along portions of the north-central Gulf Coast,” the NHC said.

DML: On behalf of my family and TeamDML, we pray for our team members in that region, and all of our fellow Americans surviving Sally.

2-Donald Trump Opposes National Mask Mandate During Pandemic: A Lot of People Don’t Want to Wear Masks
President Donald Trump on Tuesday repeated that he did not want to issue a national mask mandate during the coronavirus pandemic.

“There is, by the way, a lot of people who don’t want to wear masks,” Trump said. “There are a lot of people that think the masks are not good.”

The president commented on masks after a voter from an ABC News town hall hosted by George Stephanopoulos asked him why he did not support a national mask mandate.

DML: F*ck the masks. They don’t work in my opinion!

I will not wear a mask no matter how nice you ask.

3-Ohio High School Football Players Suspended for Carrying Pro-Police Flag

Two high school football players in Ohio were suspended from their team after carrying flags supporting police and firefighters onto the field before their game on the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Little Miami High School football players Brady Williams and Jarad Bentley led their team onto the field before their game on Friday carrying the flags after being denied permission from school officials to do so. The boys were suspended from their team indefinitely on Monday, Cincinnati’s Local 12, a CBS affiliate, reported.

Williams and Bentley, both seniors, denied that the move was political and said their intent was to honor those who died on 9/11. Both Williams and Bentley are the sons of first responders—Williams’s father is a police officer, and Bentley’s is a firefighter.

Williams and Bentley were suspended from the team indefinitely on Monday afternoon.  However, after a public outcry fueled by media attention, the board of education and district administrators eventually agreed – overturning the athletic director’s suspension on Tuesday.

DML: This pisses me off to no end, and I will speak about it today on my program TeamDML.com

4-NFL Legend, Mike Ditka, rips into NFL players for protesting National Anthem
Back in 2016 when quarterback Colin Kaepernick started protesting racial inequality during the national anthem, Hall of Fame coach Mike Ditka said he should “get the hell out” of the country because he thought that it was a form of disrespect.

Ditka once again reiterated in July that athletes who are protesting the anthem should “get the hell out” of the United States. And following this week’s NFL games, for a third time Ditka spoke out on the players who knelt during the anthem.

Appearing on NewsmaxTV, Ditka said the following this week: Ditka added: “I would tell those players go to another country and play football there. You don’t have to come out. You don’t have to come out if you go to another country. You can’t! Because the game’s only played in this country. And if you can’t respect this country, get the hell out of it.”

DML: I couldn’t agree more coach!  Here is the interview…

5-Rep. Andy Biggs to hold special order on House floor to find out who’s been funding recent riots
Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., plans to hold a special order on the House floor Wednesday, to allow several congressional members to speak about recent rioting in the U.S. and the possible sources of funding behind them.

Meanwhile, a grand jury indicted a man for allegedly shining a powerful laser into the eyes of a Portland police officer during a protest last month, Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt announced Tuesday.

Bryan Kelley, 36, was charged with assault in the second degree, unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of unlawful directing of light from a laser pointer.

Schmidt said the laser “was so powerful that it would burn through paper and cause dry material to catch fire.” The Portland Police Bureau posted a video online of the confiscated laser burning a piece of cardboard.

Watch the video:

DML:  Look at this video below from last night in Wisconsin.  I want to know what the man inside the house is supposed to do differently than holding his gun to protect his home.

Now look at this video from Philly.
