Morning Joe co-host goes on another anti-Trump rant (video)

The hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” often criticize President Donald. J. Trump. Their opposition to him has become impassioned, and, at times, their coverage labeled “histrionic.” Monday was no exception, as co-host Mika Brzezinski claimed her friends were embarrassed to admit to being Americans while on vacation.

According to Brzezinski, when her friends were on a holiday trip to Paris, France, they did not want to own up to their country of origin. As The Daily Caller reports, she tied her friends’ embarrassment to the Trump presidency, “apparently unaware of how callous and out-of-touch her admission made her sound.”

Brzezinski claimed, “I had a friend that went to Paris over the holiday, and they said they were just viscerally embarrassed to be American. They said it was the first time that it was sort of chilling.”

“They didn’t even want to share where they were from,” she continued.

Co-host Joe Scarborough, who is also Brzezinski’s fiancé, interjected, wondering if the friends had gone to “Paris, Texas,” but Brzezinski corrected him, reinforcing the fact that she was talking about Paris, France.

Scarborough went on to talk about a journalist writing about “optimism in the age of Trump,” and listed off the improvements the world has seen recently, giving the president no credit.

On Twitter, user’s responded to Mika’s story negatively, with one accusing her friends of being “elitist” and another thought her friends might enjoy living in another country permanently. A third suggested simply that Brzezinski needs “better friends.”
