MS-13 gang members arrested by Border Patrol

In separate incidences spanning 24-hours, two Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang members were arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol in the state of Ohio.

Assigned to the Sandusky Bay Station in Port Clinton, Ohio, Border Patrol agents arrested Juan Carlos Rivera-Flores at approximately 6 p.m. on Aug. 31.  An admitted national of El Salvador, it was revealed in a follow-up investigation that Rivera-Flores was confirmed as an MS-13 gang member previously arrested in El Salvador for possessing firearms, and resisting arrest.

On Sep. 1 at around 11:30 a.m., the second arrest occurred when Border Patrol agents confronted Wilson Antonio Miranda-Rivera, who admitted to being illegally in the United States. A long criminal history, as well as his MS-13 gang affiliation, was revealed when his records were searched. Miranda-Rivera has numerous arrests for illegal re-entry into the United States as well as a felony conviction for terrorist threats.

Both Rivera-Flores and Miranda-Rivera are currently being held at Seneca County Jail pending removal proceedings.

According to Chief Patrol Agent Douglas Harrison, “These arrests serve as a prime example of our agency’s commitment to prevent dangerous people from living in our communities. I’m extremely proud of our agents’ diligence and dedication to duty!”

DETROIT – Two Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang members were arrested by Border Patrol agents in two separate incidents over a 24-hour span by U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Sandusky Bay Station in Port Clinton, Ohio.

The first incident began at about 6 p.m., on August 31st, when Border Patrol agents arrested Juan Carlos Rivera-Flores who readily admitted to being a national of El Salvador. A follow up investigation revealed that Rivera-Flores is a confirmed MS-13 gang member who has been arrested in El Salvador for possessing firearms, resisting arrest, and claiming MS-13 Gang affiliation.

The second arrest took place at approximately 11:30 a.m. on September 1st, when Border Patrol agents encountered MS-13 gang member Wilson Antonio Miranda-Rivera who readily admitted to being illegally present in the United States. Records checks revealed a lengthy criminal history which includes a felony conviction for terrorist threats along with numerous arrests for illegal re-entry into the United States.
