Special counsel Robert Mueller will look into the meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer with ties to the Kremlin, according to CNN Tuesday.
As part of Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference, the committee will review the meeting, which included former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and President Trump’s adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner. Kushner disclosed the meeting when he submitted paperwork to obtain his security clearance, but reportedly, the full details of the meeting were unknown to the FBI.
Mueller’s investigators will also review an email thread that included plans for that meeting, the report says.
Trump Jr. released the email thread Tuesday, in which he agreed to meet with the lawyer. According to the thread, she was offering him “very high level and sensitive information” that would “incriminate” failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
