Muslim Leaders Relentlessly Beat Couple For Having Sex (photos)

The “religion of peace” proves to be otherwise after photographs have emerged of young Indonesians being relentlessly beaten by authorities for violating Sharia law. Their violation is having sex outside of marriage.

Eight locals in the province of Aceh were found guilty of engaging in sex out of wedlock, and were subjected to routine beatings by Islamic legislators.

The adult male, 27-year-old Herizal bin Yunus, was mercilessly whipped so many times with a cane that he actually passed out from the pain.

A doctor examined Yunus outside a mosque in Banda, where the beatings were taking place. When Yunus regained consciousness, they prepped him for more beatings.

Another unidentified woman was also subjected to extensive canings in front of the audience, where many in the crowd were recording the beatings on their cameras.

Other means of violations under Sharia law that result in penalties of canings and beatings are gambling, consuming alcohol, and gay sex. The act of gay sex can include punishments such as 100 lashes by whip, 100 months in jail or a hefty fine of 1,000 grams of gold.
