After the Paris attacks last December, Donald Trump called for a temporary ban on all Muslims entering the United States in order to keep the American people safe from similar violence happening here.
“Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life.”
Trump’s statements were met with backlash, and he has since clarified that “the Muslim ban is something that in some form has morphed into extreme vetting from certain areas of the world”
After Trump was declared the winner of the presidential election, many Muslims took to social media to react to Trump’s victory, sharing their thoughts and statements that can be seen below:
