NBA player for the Boston Celtics, Isaiah Thomas says he will not be sitting during the national anthem this upcoming season. However, he does support other athletes for doing what they believe is right.
TMZ reporters spoke to Thomas about players like Marshawn Lynch and Michael Bennett who stayed seated over the weekend while the patriotic musical composition played. He said that even though he’s not going to join them in their movement, he understands the approach.
“Stand for what you feel is right. I’m not going to do it, but that’s those players’ decisions.”
Thomas also commented on the recent violence in Charlottesville, saying, “I just wish everybody would love and not hate.”
