A new series focused on lecturing white people about their current stance on racism is now being advertised by Netflix and taking a huge hit on its initial reception.
The new show is based on the 2014 movie by the same title and focuses on what happens when Sam White, an activist and radio show host, is unexpectedly elected as head of a traditionally black residence hall at the fictional white Ivy League school.
The show attempts to relive her experiences as a minority there.
The current thumbs-down reaction to the trailer of the Netflix release, ‘Dear White People,’ is at 125,000 and counting. Twitter is on fire with the hashtag #BoycottNetflix and many are canceling their Netflix accounts due to this recent release.

Between Twitter and the comments on Netflix, the YouTube trailer is clearly not something that is bridging any divides. The two young men shown below are voicing their disgust with the trailer.
