According to Monday’s Rasmussen Reports’ daily Presidential Tracking Poll, President Trump’s approval rating has risen back into the 50s for the first time in nearly a month.
The poll revealed that 50 percent of likely U.S. voters approve of President Trump’s job performance, with fifty percent disapproving.
Following Trump’s inauguration, his job approval rating topped out at 59 percent and stayed in the 50s until early March. Since then, the daily rating has dropped to as low as 42 percent.
Thirty percent of those surveyed strongly approve of Trump’s job performance, while 39 percent strongly disapprove. This calculates to a Presidential Approval Index rating of -9.
The poll also addressed questions regarding income taxes and found that the overwhelming majority of Americans filed their taxes just before the deadline. An increasing number of poll respondents are worried that they will be audited by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), about whom only 45% have even a somewhat favorable opinion. Voters’ views were split evenly when asked if they trusted the IRS to fairly enforce U.S. tax laws.
