Back in early 2015 with armed high caliber weapons, nearly 40 New Black Panther Party members took to the streets of Austin, Texas to condemn recent deaths of black civilians Michael Brown and Eric Garner by police. Their goal is to patrol their own communities and encourage the taking up of arms.
The heavily-armed New Black Panther members were carrying Kalashnikov rifles and AR-15’s, which caught the attention of many, as they chanted songs in their march of force. Their brigade interrupted the nearby SXSW (South by Southwest) festival, which celebrates music and film.
Now, with the deaths of Philando Castile in Minnesota and Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, fears are arising if another Black Panther Party surmising will occur. And many fear it will be more violent than last year. Protests have begun over the deaths by Black Lives Matter activists, and President Obama made a statement on the matter in Poland.
