A new Gallup poll just released Thursday revealed rising numbers for the month of June, with workforce participation at the highest level in seven years.
The U.S. workforce participation among U.S. adults aged 18 or older peaked at 68.6% in June – the highest since Gallup began tracking the statistic seven years ago. The second highest rate was 68.5% in April and June of 2013.
According to the Gallup poll, the U.S. unemployment rate for June was 5.2%, just under 5.3% number for May.
The Gallup unemployment rates are reportedly based on the percentage of people who are working or seeking work.
The poll also noted that the “Good Jobs Rate” increased from 45.4% in May to 46.3% in June – the highest level so far in 2017. This data measures the percentage of adults in the U.S. who have full-time jobs.
Over 30,000 U.S. adults were included in the telephone survey to obtain the poll results, over a period from June 1-30.
