According to an Associated Press-NORC poll released Saturday, President Trump’s approval rating has hit a record low.

The Associated Press, who often publishes negative reports about President Trump and his administration, claims that Trump’s approval rating has fallen to a mere 32 percent, making him the least popular first-year president on record.

The AP-NORC telephone polls reportedly surveyed 1,444 adults from Nov. 30 – Dec. 4, and another 1,020 adults between Dec. 7-11.

It is in contrast to a Gallup Poll just released Friday, which surveyed 1,049 adults between Dec. 4-11. In that poll, President Trump was given a 41 percent favorable approval rating, and First Lady Melania Trump was given a 54 percent favorable approval rating.

In the Associated Press report, with the bold title of, “Americans Pessimistic about Trump,” the claim is made that only half of Republicans say Trump has kept his promises, including overhauling Obamacare withdrawing the US from the nuclear agreement with Iran and fixing the nation’s aging infrastructure. The AP remarks that “none of those steps have been taken.”

The AP does admit that the economy is improving, the stock market is soaring, and unemployment is hovering around 4 percent. Still, the media giant says, “Trump continues to talk about his presidency with lofty rhetorical flourishes, declaring that his first months in office outshine those of his predecessors. But there’s no doubt that 2017 has been devoid of any significant legislative accomplishments.”

The AP also downplays the GOP tax plan, and quotes a retired federal employee as saying, “It definitely favors Mr. Trump and his wealthy friends.”

The Associated Press reports:

As 2017 comes to a close, the majority of Americans painted a broadly pessimistic view of Trump’s presidency, the nation’s politics and the overall direction of the country. Just three in 10 Americans said the United States is heading in the right direction, and 52 percent said the country is worse off since Trump became president — worrisome signs both for the White House and Republicans heading into a midterm election year where control of Congress will be at stake.
