New York Mayor Makes Announcement on Trump Protest in NYC

With just days left before the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, new plans are in the works for a Thursday evening protest to be held outside of the Trump International Hotel.

Mayor Bill de Blasio has tweeted out multiple announcements that he will take part in the protest.

De Blasio, who will be joined by actors such as Alec Baldwin, Mark Ruffalo, and filmmaker Michael Moore, said, “Our next president needs to hear from all NYers before he takes office.”

In a series of tweets on Monday, de Blasio wrote, “As Lincoln once said, here in NYC, let us have faith that RIGHT makes MIGHT. This is New York. Nothing about who we are changed on Election Day. Let’s get to work.”

In addition to the liberal celebrities and Mayor de Blasio, city councilman Jumaane Williams announced he would be there as well.
