Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Artie Burns was arrested Thursday night for driving on a suspended license. According to police, the 22-year-old was stopped in Miami Beach for driving his Cadillac Escalade with an expired license plate tag. During the stop, Burns told police he didn’t have his license. They later discovered it had been suspended.

Reportedly, Burns had failed to pay traffic citations, one of which was issued for driving 130mph in a 60mph zone, and also failed to appear for a court hearing. His citations total $1,012.20.

Miami-Dade County Corrections records show Burns was arrested without incident, and later released from custody.

According to 247Sports, “Burns, 22, was a first round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft for the Pittsburgh Steelers. A talented player with a bright future on the field, he ended his rookie campaign with 65 tackles and three interceptions.”
