The Associated Press is reporting that the former star of the New England Patriots, Aaron Hernandez, committed suicide in prison Wednesday morning.
According to the Department of Corrections, the former NFL pro was found hanging in his cell at approximately 3:05 a.m.
Hernandez’s suicide comes just five days after he was acquitted of murdering two men in Boston in 2012. However, Hernandez was serving a life sentence without parole for murdering Odin L. Lloyd in 2013.
Reportedly, Hernandez took his own life with a bed sheet that he attached to his cell window.
