NYC police chase rare kind of escapees in snowstorm

Tuesday morning in Staten Island, two ponies escaped from their barn during an intense snowstorm in New York.

Staten Island resident Robert Stasio was eating breakfast when he saw the two mini horses galloping around in the streets.

“I followed them and they started running,” Stasio said. “As I was doing that I see the cops coming down the block with the lights on. I ran and I grab them by the mane and I was holding them, and [the cops] were trying to get a rope or something.”

The ponies were eventually caught by a man using a tow strap.

Later on, Special Ops Division from the NYPD arrived to the scene and brought the ponies back to their respective owners.
