Despite his daughter’s pleas not to do it, President Trump has withdrawn from the Paris climate accord. Prior to his decision, former Obama official Christy Goldfuss says that President Trump’s daughter will be seen by the public as having no power to influence her father.

Speaking to The Hill from the George Soros-funded Center for American Progress (CAP) where she is managing director, Goldfuss said, “If it turns out that the president withdraws from the Paris agreement, the public reaction will be that Ivanka has no power, that she doesn’t have the president’s ear.”

After serving as the former managing director of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, Goldfuss has since become CAP’s Vice President for Energy and Environment Policy.

Goldfuss claimed that Ivanka’s reputation as a presidential adviser will suffer serious consequences after her father’s decision, stating, “She will not have the credibility to say that she can stop her father from doing reckless things ever again. This is the world stage.”
