Obama Going After Russia Over U.S. Hacking

According to U.S. officials, the Obama administration is finalizing details on imposing economic sanctions, diplomatic censure, and possibly a covert cyber operation against Russia. The announcement concerning this move may come this week.

These sanctions against Russia are the administration’s response to the alleged Russian hacking and interference in the U.S. election as well as the hacking of the DNC.

Both the FBI and CIA are saying that Russia intervened to help Donald Trump win the election.

President-elect Donald Trump is still skeptical of these findings against Russia, and the Russians have denied any involvement.

The White House is in the process of trying to revise an executive order involving the President’s authorities to impose sanctions on other countries committing overseas cyberattacks against the United States.

The administration wants to ensure that they make it difficult for President Trump to overturn the “punishments” placed against Russia by Obama.
