Obama pal sends stern warning to GOP about Mueller investigation

As questions regarding the impartiality of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigative team continue to concern the public and congressional Republicans, former Attorney General Eric Holder tweeted a warning to the GOP on Thursday. He said any attempt to fire Mueller “will not be tolerated.”

Holder, who was attorney general under former President Barack Hussein Obama, tweeted: “Speaking on behalf of the vast majority of the American people, Republicans in Congress be forewarned: any attempt to remove Bob Mueller will not be tolerated. These are BS attacks on him/his staff that are blatantly political-designed to hide the real wrongdoing. Country not party.”

Holder’s tweet comes after multiple instances of conflicts of interest and bias within Mueller’s team were discovered, raising questions about Mueller, his ability to lead the investigation, and the credibility of any case he might have.

Mueller’s investigation centers around allegations of Russia meddling in the 2016 presidential election, and accusations that there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

On Wednesday, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was grilled during a House Judiciary Committee hearing. During the proceedings, he faced tough questions about the people on Mueller’s investigative team.

Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan (R) tore into Rosenstein over text messages proving that one of the top FBI agents Mueller had on the team, Peter Strzok, was an “anti-Trumper” in full support of Clinton.

Rosenstein also took a thorough tongue lashing from South Carolina’s Rep. Trey Gowdy (R), who felt there were many indications of bias within Mueller’s team and proceeded to list them for Rosenstein.

Congress’s aggressive questioning, and additional calls from some to throw out the investigation, must have ruffled Holder’s feathers, prompting his message of forewarning.

In response to Holder’s tweet, other users indicated that while Holder may be speaking for some Americans, they did not feel he was speaking for them.
