On Monday, Former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama unveiled their official portraits for the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. The reviews were mixed, and some say Obama’s painting includes a strange portrayal of his left hand, as well as other odd looking features.
The Daily Caller reports: The art community has begun leveling some scathing critiques of the works.
The rather non-traditional portraits are inspiring a series of conspiracy theories, jokes and further oddities.
As an example, the report says some people claim Obama’s hand was painted backwards, or with six fingers, while others say its a trick of lighting.
Some examples of their tweets on the subject follow, as well as other critiques that include thoughts about a questionably shaped vein on Obama’s forehead, and a comparison to other, more traditional, paintings.
