At noon Friday, Donald J. Trump officially became the 45th President of the United States.
Trump and his First Lady, Melania Trump, arrived at the White House in the late morning where they were greeted by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
Many commentators have noted Melania’s appearance for the inaugural ceremony resembled that of First Lady Jackie Kennedy.
As Trump approached Obama, they cordially shook hands. Likewise, the wives of the two authoritative figures also greeted each other formally, as Melania presented Michelle Obama with a gift.
The two couples then posed for paparazzi pictures in front of the doors of the White House.
