Obama’s Shocking Response To Trump’s Speech

Obama was much too busy to watch the acceptance speech of the man who may replace him in the Oval Office.

“I did not watch the convention.  I don’t think that’s a surprise.  I got a lot of stuff to do,” was Obama’s reply, when asked at a press conference about Donald Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention.

People responded to that on Twitter, asking why he had so much time to watch sporting events, or play golf?

But in spite of not having watched Trump’s speech, Obama still had plenty to say about it – and he made the comments during a during a press conference Friday in the White House with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto.

“This idea that America is somehow on the verge of collapse, this vision of violence and chaos everywhere, doesn’t really jibe with the experience of most people,” Obama said. “I think it is important to be absolutely clear here. Some of the fears that were expressed throughout the week just don’t jibe with the facts,” he said, claiming that crime rates have fallen under his presidency.

Obama didn’t stop there – he claims that illegal immigration today is lower by two-thirds than when Ronald Reagan was president.

Less than three hours later, Obama was having to respond to a terror attack in Germany.

Speaking to CBS News later Friday, Obama said the attack in Munich still doesn’t prove Trump was right about terrorism.  This is how to prevent terrorism, according to Obama:

“Terrorism is a real threat, and nobody knows that better than me,” Obama said on “Face the Nation.” “One of the best ways of preventing it is making sure we don’t divide our own country, that we don’t succumb to fear, that we don’t sacrifice our values, and that we send a very strong signal to the world and to every American citizen that we’re in this together.”

Col. Allen West had this to say about Obama’s remarks:

The ol’ folks down South have a saying that is appropriate for the impromptu press conference given by President Obama earlier today. It goes like this, “A hit dog will holler.” The fact that Barack Obama is out today reacting to Donald Trump’s speech last night is a major indicator and victory. Trump has become the first GOP presidential candidate in recent history to put the progressive socialists of the left on defense.

Last night, on the grand stage he commanded, he clearly articulated the contrast and identified Obama’s — and therefore Hillary Clinton’s — failures, shortcomings, and incompetence. And now, the hit dog is hollering away. Trump defined Obama and Hillary, which is normally something the left — aided by their media accomplices — does.

So, way to go Donald Trump, you hit those two dogs, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and now they are screaming loud. And sad, Obama and his damaged ego just could not allow Trump to dominate the media cycle — how utterly petulant, and quite telling.
