President Trump’s Twitter account was quiet during James Comey’s testimony, but Donald Trump Jr., on the other hand, was tweeting up a storm as he watched the spectacle.

Trump Jr. tweeted more than 80 times on Thursday morning in defense of his father, attacking Comey’s testimony and running a virtual play-by-play of the event as it took place.

“Did I miss something or did Comey just say he asked a friend to leak information to the press?” asked Trump Jr. the moment he heard the breaking news come out of the horse’s mouth. “Is this a joke?”

He also aptly commented on Comey’s admission that he was a weakling who couldn’t confront the President when he was asked about whether or not he was being investigated by the FBI. Stating, “So if he was a “Stronger guy” he might have actually followed procedure & the law? You were director of the FBI, who are you kidding?”

Although he has declined to comment publicly about his tweets, news reporters are now speculating that the younger Trump is seeking political office.

He reportedly told The Associated Press this spring that rumors of a run for the governorship of New York were false, but Trump Jr. added, “Maybe someday. It’s not something I’m doing now. But you never know, it’s fascinating stuff.”

He’s since appeared at Republican campaign events, but Trump Jr. is running their father’s former company with his brother Eric, and they don’t talk about politics or their business with the president.

During Comey’s testimony, Trump Jr. pointed out, “Knowing my father for 39 years when he ‘orders or tells’ you to do something there is no ambiguity, you will know exactly what he means.”

This week, the Trump sons announced that the Trump Organization will launch a new hotel chain with three hotels in Mississippi, called “American Idea”, which was inspired by their father’s campaign journey.
