A new video shows just how violent the “days of anger” are becoming in the Middle East following President Trump’s announcement that the US will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
In the video below, the stabbing of an Israeli security guard at Jerusalem’s main bus station by a Palestinian man was captured on surveillance video.
The video posted online shows the 24-year-old man handing his belongings to the security guard, who was checking travelers at the station’s door, before suddenly removing a knife and plunging it into the guard’s chest.
The guard is a 35-year-old male. He is in severe condition, according to reports.
Police told The Jerusalem Post that the attacker started running away down Jaffa Street, where he was apprehended by a civilian and other policemen.
He was then taken in for questioning at the Police Central Unit station.
According to The Jerusalem Post’s sister publication Maariv, the attacker was from the West Bank city of Nablus and did not hold an Israeli work permit.
