Parent Angry Over Girl In Boys’ Bathroom At School

A father takes action when his son told him a girl was in their bathroom at school.

A school in Howell, Michigan quietly decided to obey Obama’s decree issued on May 13, which mandates that ALL public schools must allow students to use the bathroom and locker rooms that match their gender identity.

Matt Stewart was unaware of this when he asked his 9-year-old son last Friday, “How did school go today?” and received the reply that “there was a girl in the bathroom.”  The boy was uncomfortable, and he said the school officials just told him to “stand closer to the urinals”, while the girl was told to “look at the wall.”

Stewart said he spoke with both the principal, Jennifer Goodwin, and the superintendent Erin MacGregor. He said MacGregor admitted to making the final decision, allowing students to choose which bathroom they wanted to use.

Steward has pulled his three children out of the school.

“I have three children in Southwest Elementary School and they are being humiliated and intimidated,” Stewart said Wednesday. “Our kids are absent from school until there’s a policy in place that keeps them from being humiliated or intimidated.”

“The bottom line: A 9-year-old girl is in the boys’ bathroom with my son,” the father said, adding there is no precaution to keep the girl from walking out of a stall and seeing a male classmate urinating.

When contacted for comment, School board President Michael Yenshaw said the matter “is not one that has reached the board” at this time.   It does not pertain to an immediate threat to the public safety of the district,” Yenshaw’s written reply stated. “It may also involve FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) issues, which limit the content of information that the district is permitted to release.”
