Patti Smith Draws a Blank at Ceremony

The iconic American songwriter and poet, Patti Smith, had a brief memory lapse at the Nobel prize ceremony in Stockholm.

A singer’s biggest fear occurred. Patti forgot the words to a song. This was not just any song, but Bob Dylan’s ‘A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall.’

Dylan was a Nobel prize recipient this year and received a Nobel prize in absentia for his work.

It wasn’t a major catastrophe, though. Smith needed two attempts to remember the words, but the third attempt was a charm and the singer not only finished the entire song but her rendition brought tears to many spectators’ and attendees’ eyes.
