NEW YORK — On Tuesday afternoon, P.S. 174 William Sidney Mount Elementary School officials called the police out to its campus in Rego Park to assist with a peeping Tom.

A Queens elementary school employee discovered a man filming her through a school window as she used a nurse’s office bathroom, police sources said Wednesday.

The 43-year-old victim told responding police officers that the incident unfolded as she used the restroom in the basement at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, sources said.

The woman looked up at the window and was startled to see a strange man holding a phone and peering in, appearing to film her or take photos of her as she was using the bathroom, she told police.

Students normally use the basement bathroom, the victim told investigators.

Police are currently investigating the incident. No arrests had been made at the time of this report.

Officials with the Department of Education did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
