Pelosi launches rare accusation at the press

Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) attacked the integrity of the press on CNN with host Jake Tapper but the mainstream media has yet to address her statements or express the usual outrage when a politician attacks it.

The House minority leader told Tapper that the press is guilty of acting as an accomplice in Russia’s reported undermining of the 2016 presidential election.

Pelosi said, “I do think, with all due respect in the world for the press, that the press could have done a better job highlighting Russia’s alleged meddling in the election.”

Pelosi told Tapper that journalists were wrong to report on the content of the stolen emails and added that they were wrong to ignore the Russian hackers responsible for the leaks.

Pelosi told Tapper that the reporting on the leaked emails was not just a waste of time but that “it actually benefited Russia’s attempts to interfere in the election.”

She then mocked CNN and the media’s coverage by stating:

“Instead of printing every email that came out and saying, ‘This comes to you from Vladimir Putin…,’ they were, ‘Ha-ha-ha, John Podesta said this or that!'”
