Vice President Mike Pence had a message of support for Israel on Monday, saying the U.S. and Israel are united. He also made a vow to Israel and the entire Middle East that the U.S. will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.

Pence posted a pair of tweets that included videos of a speech he gave in Jerusalem. In the first tweet, he wrote: “Radical Islamic terrorism knows no borders– targeting America, Israel, nations across the Middle East & the wider world. Thanks to the courage of our Armed Forces, ISIS is on the run. The U.S & Israel have long stood together to confront the terrible evil of terrorism.”

In the second tweet, he wrote: “Today I have a solemn promise to Israel, to all the Middle East, and to the world – the United States of America will never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon.”

In another earlier tweet, Pence made reference to Jerusalem being “the capital of Israel” and restated that the U.S. will be moving forward with plans to have its embassy “open in Jerusalem before end of 2019.”
