Pence promises healthcare will be addressed

After the final vote on the Obamacare replacement bill was canceled Friday, House Speaker Paul Ryan claimed that “Americans would be living with Obamacare for the foreseeable future,” and President Trump told reporters he “was moving on” to address other issues, mentioning tax reform as one example.

However, on Saturday, the president changed his tune. He tweeted out a message, telling the American people not to worry and that Obamacare would eventually explode, at which time he will piece together a new plan.

With so much confusion in the air, and with Trump’s approval rating on the decline, Vice President Pence attempted to be a calming voice on Saturday during a small business event in West Virginia.

The vice president delivered a “pep talk” wherein he acknowledged the failure of repealing Obamacare, noting that the issue is “back to the drawing board,” and promised that President Trump will “keep fighting.”

Pence said he and the president understand that Obamacare “stifles growth and slows job creation.”  Thus, Pence promised that “President Trump is never going to stop fighting to keep his promises to the American people,” adding that the Democrats’ apparent victory “won’t last for long.”
