Petition Circulating to Move Melania Trump out of Trump Tower

A petition is now circulating in opposition to Melania and Barron Trump remaining at Trump Tower until young Barron finishes the school year.

Approximately 100,000 New York residents have signed the petition asking New York City Mayor, Bill De Blasio, and Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, to cease payment for protection of the Trumps after President-Elect Trump relocates to the White House.

The expenses to the taxpayer are an estimated $1,000,000 a day for the security detail of the remaining family, causing many citizens to demand the Trump’s pay the tab themselves.

Jason Miller, a spokesman for President-Elect Trump said, “No official statement has been released by the Trump family regarding transition timing, but like any parents, they are concerned about pulling their 10-year-old son out of school in the middle of the year.”

Those protesting Melania’s decision to stay at Trump Tower with Barron are complaining about the large price tag of the security for the first family, citing that these funds should be used for city improvements and to help as many people in the city as they can.

The petition can be read below.

This petition is to request Gov. Cuomo and Mayor Bill De Blasio refuse the cost President-Elect Donald Trump is requesting so his wife can remain in New York.

The New York taxpayers refuse to pay over $1 million a day so she can stay. If this decision has been made, between the two of them they should be the ones to pay for it. Not New York taxpayer dollars that could be used on roads, schools, transit, sanitation, new jobs and other expenses that the city has.

This is what tax dollars should be used for, improvements for the city and all the people of the city, not just one.
