A petition was launched on the White House website Monday, May 14, by Philadelphia businessman Edward Bishop, which asks President Donald J. Trump to immediately sign an executive order requiring all businesses to use the E-Verify system for every person they hire.
DML News CEO Dennis Michael Lynch said every American who cares about the rule of law should be signing this petition.
“I’ve been solicited for 10 years to get behind petitions. This is the first one I’ve ever participated in. That’s how important this is,” DML said. He is pushing the petition heavily to DML News readers, asking them to taking on a leading role in helping to spread the word and skyrocket this effort.
“We need to make E-Verify mandatory to end the wave of illegal immigration into the U.S. This is as much a national security issue as it is a jobs issue as we really have no idea who is coming across the southern border,” Edwards said, adding, “I have followed DML for several years and decided to reach out to him to get involved because, like many Americans, I was tired of waiting on our politicians to place the interests of our nation ahead of themselves.”
The petition reads as follows:
U.S. Citizens should not be responsible to pay for the lives of illegal aliens and the services they use, including but not limited to education and healthcare. Likewise, businesses must be held accountable for hiring legitimate workers. Today, less than 3% of businesses participate in E-Verify because it’s voluntary.
Congress has demonstrated a lack of will to stop illegal immigration. Therefore, the President must use the powers granted him to remove the incentive for illegal aliens to travel to and remain in the U.S. unlawfully by eliminating their ability to secure a JOB.
Americans want the rule of law enforced NOW. This petition calls upon President Trump to immediately sign an executive order making E-Verify mandatory for all U.S. businesses, no exceptions.
The petition needs a total of 100,000 signatures by June 13, 2018, in order to get a response from the White House.
