Philippines President Breaks Ties With Obama, Aligns With China & Russia

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte announced his separation from the United States, both militarily and economically, and his intent to align the Philippines with China and Russia.

“America has lost now. I’ve realigned myself in your ideological flow,” he told Chinese business leaders in Beijing on Thursday.

Duterte said he will now go to Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, and tell him, “There are now three of us against the world, China, Philippines and Russia.”

Duterte has had it with Obama, especially over Obama’s criticism of his efforts to crack down on drugs in his country.   In a September news conference, he called Obama a “son of a bitch.”

Ironically, Obama has been loudly critical of Republican nominee Donald Trump, saying he doesn’t know anything about foreign policy.
