Theunis Wessels of Alberta, Canada had to get his lawn cut – despite a massive tornado looming in the distance.
His wife, Cecillia Wessels, posted a photo on Facebook Friday, of her husband out mowing the lawn, as the huge funnel cloud appears in the background. She said, “My beast mowing the lawn with a breeze in his hair.”
It was a “breeze” indeed.
“I was keeping an eye on it, I was watching it all the time,” Wessels said in an interview with CTV News.
He said, “We are originally from South Africa, and it’s the first time I’ve ever seen a tornado.”
“So, we need to tell you they’re pretty dangerous,” the news reporter warned him.
He said he had so many things happening over the weekend, he had to get the lawn cut. His family tried to get him to stop, then took pictures of him mowing, but he wouldn’t stop until he finished the lawn.
Luckly, it “moved to the east” and did not hit their area.
