Podesta issues scathing response to Trump

Former Hillary Clinton campaign manager John Podesta was on a road trip with his wife when he learned via Twitter that he is the talk of the town over at the G-20 summit in Hamburg, Germany.

“Everyone here is talking about why John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and the CIA. Disgraceful!” Trump tweeted.

Claiming on Friday that he had “nothing to do with the DNC,” Podesta’s group did experience a security breach last summer, which led to a massive release of emails from Democratic Party officials. Emails from Podesta were released separately, months later.

Podesta responded to Trump’s assertion regarding his emails by accusing the President of “colluding with the Russians.”

“Get a grip man, the Russians committed a crime when they stole my emails to help get you elected President,” Podesta wrote, calling on Trump to mention the hacking during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

After admonishing the President to just focus on the G-20, Podesta then got back on the road.

Ever since finding out that last week that Obama knew last summer about Russia’s attempts to “hack” into the 2016 presidential election, Trump has become increasingly critical of officials from the former administration, including President Obama and Hillary Clinton.

A special counsel and several congressional committees are currently investigating the Kremlin’s role in the election, as well as collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russian officials, but absolutely no evidence of the latter that has surfaced.

Trump has denied allegations of collusion and has referred to the investigations as a “cloud” hanging over his administration.
