Department of Homeland Security Sec. John Kelly signed two memos on Monday which will dramatically hasten the deportation of illegal aliens currently in our country.
The secretary included in the order the immediate construction of a border wall and the hiring of an additional 5,000 border patrol agents and 10,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
The order also contained a provision for bypassing the courts, in many cases. And, for those cases requiring court involvement, the order seeks to expand the number of prioritized deportation hearings for illegal aliens, particularly for those who have lived in the States for two years or less.
In the new order, parents living here would be prosecuted if they attempt to smuggle their illegal children across our border.
Although the action outlined by the DHS indicates that the president and his administration are serious in their attempts to thwart the blight that illegal aliens are to our economy and safety, there are a number of key components important to DML that are missing from the order: namely, the memo did not address Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program or cutting off jobs or welfare entitlements to illegals.
