This week, the nation was horrified to hear the story of a church bus returning from a retreat that was struck by a vehicle in oncoming traffic, killing 13 of its 14 passengers, in Texas.

The driver of the wayward vehicle, 20-year-old Jack Dillon Young, crossed the center line and barreled head-on into the church’s minivan. Young also suffered non-critical injuries in the incident.

One eyewitness reported that the young man admitted at the scene that he was texting while driving, causing him to lose control of his truck. He lamented,  “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I was texting.”

Texas is one of few states that has not adopted a statewide ban on texting while driving.

Please take our poll — In the wake of this tragedy, we would like to ask, do you ever text and drive?
