Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) said Tuesday that he would not allow a Supreme Court vacancy to be filled in 2020, a position that puts him at odds with the Senate’s top Republican on an issue that has inflamed partisan tensions for more than two years.

Grassley said he would not look to fill the seat during a presidential election if he remained chairman.

Many conservatives are lashing out at the comment, stating that if the Democrats were in power they would not be so cordial.

We ask DML News readers, if a vacancy opens on the Supreme Court in 2020, should the seat be filled by Republicans if they remain in power?
