POLL shows Kid Rock’s Senate chances slim (see numbers)

The outspoken, highly conservative rocker known as Kid Rock has been flirting with the idea of running for the US Senate.  But his chances at a real run for Michigan’s Senate seat appear to be less than viable, as a recent poll shows him a whopping 20 points behind incumbent Democrat Debbie Stabenow.

According to a hypothetical matchup run by Media Research Group, the musician, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, would get waxed by Stabenow–52 to 34 percent–if the election took place today.

Rock made headlines in recent weeks after critics slammed him for being racist by using the Confederate flag as a backdrop at his concerts in the past, to which he responded with a scathing Facebook rant.

The musician began his post with, “People! Pay NO attention to the garbage the extreme left is trying to create! (and by the way, f*** the extreme left and the extreme right!)”

“They are trying to use the old confederate flag BS, etc. to stir the pot, when we all know none of this would be going on if I were not thinking of running for office,” he continued. “Pretty funny how scared I have them all and their only agenda is to try and label people / me racist who do not agree or cower to them!!”

The president of Media Research Group, Tom Shields, noted Kid Rock’s chances of victory are slim.

“Kid Rock would have an uphill climb against Stabenow if he were serious about getting into the race,” Shields said in a statement.

Stabenow has an iron fist wrapped around the state’s Democratic voters, with a lead of 87 percent to 9 percent. And Kid Rock’s lead among Republicans is nowhere near where it needs to be, with 66 percent saying they support him, 13 percent vouching for Stabenow, and 20 percent undecided or not voting.

He has yet to even fully commit to the race, with a campaign site that he says is real, but that only contains a link to his merchandise page through Warner Bros. Records.

In July, he called out Stabenow on Twitter, saying that Americans were “sick and tired” of “bullshit” from politicians.

“Senator Stabenow and I do share a love of music, although probably not the same kind,” Ritchie said.

“I concede she is better at playing politics than I am so I’ll keep doing what I do best, which is being a voice for tax paying, hardworking AMERICANS and letting politicians like her know that We the People are sick and tired of their bullsh*t!”
